Community is so important, more important than almost anything.
It’s where a mom finds a friend. It’s where someone who feels lonely finds connection. It’s where people turn when they need help.
It’s where Jewish children connect to their Jewish roots and feel proud of who they are. It’s where singles find their match. It’s where we grow, learn, celebrate, and support one another.
Community is where so many of life’s blessings begin.
That's why I'm writing to you today: You can reach out to Jews in our community. You can help make their year sweeter and more full of light.
Many Jews in our area would love a seat at the table – especially during the High Holidays, but they have nowhere to go. Some feel like they don't belong. Others are embarrassed by their lack of knowledge in reciting prayers.
I know some who don’t feel comfortable or safe talking about their feelings about Israel, wearing a star of David, or otherwise publicly identifying as Jewish.
They need to know they are loved and accepted. They need to know what they can do in the face of hate and confusion. They need to know they are not alone!
We need to invite them in for the Holidays! Your High Holidays donation this year will help make that possible. Maybe you can give $360. Or perhaps $540 or $720. Or, if you’ve been blessed this year, consider giving $1,800.
Your kind donation will spread Jewish pride, courage, education, and community. You’ll help people realize, through learning Torah and delving into our rich tradition, that we are all in this together.
You’ll help them be uplifted and strengthened.
We will be creating a display for the High Holidays called The Caring Wall,
where every person who gives will be listed.
Our community will see how many wonderful people care about them, their future, and their Jewish life at Chabad of Oviedo-Winter Springs. This display will be a wonderful reminder of our unity, care, and love for each other.
Imagine walking into the Chabad House and being greeted by a warm face, and welcomed in.
Now imagine all that for a neighbor who is feeling lonely, lost, and afraid.
Your High Holidays gift will ensure that Chabad of Oviedo-Winter Springs continues to be here for our community, providing a special space where journeys unfold ... where hearts are lifted up.
