Hebrew School Learning Curriculum

Throughout this year’s curriculum, students will be introduced to the story of the Exodus and the Jewish people’s journey to Mount Sinai and then to the Land of Israel. Beginning with the slavery in Egypt and continuing through the giving of the Torah and the stories along the way, students will come to know their Jewish story and strongly feel their place within it. With pride in their ancestors, they will be confident and equipped to live their lives as proud Jews.

Each class is divided into two parts:

Part 1: An interactive and engaging presentation of the story.

Part 2: A hands-on activity that helps students continue learning the story and internalize its message.

This is followed by Hebrew reading instruction.

Through engaging and innovative activities, your child will discover that Jewish history is not merely something from the past. Students will recognize that this is their story and will feel confident and responsible for living a life that reflects the values taught by our ancestors.

The curriculum is designed to inspire positive growth in children by encouraging them to integrate Torah and mitzvot into their daily lives. Through focused lesson goals and repeated application, students will develop practical skills and be empowered to create meaningful change in their lives. The curriculum offers timeless lessons and provides children with the tools they need to apply Jewish values in a practical way.

Children will gain the passion, confidence, and knowledge to live Jewishly by internalizing the lessons and skills they learn. Upon completion of this course, students will have developed meaningful ways to integrate Torah, mitzvot, and Jewish holidays into their lives, while also learning how to make a positive impact on the world around them.

Areas of academic emphasis include:

• Jewish History

• Hebrew Reading and Vocabulary

• Jewish Holidays and Traditions
